*I PROPOSE-PW*

The area of interest I have chosen is the rising affect that the economy has on college students. I feel as though this is important to me and should be important to many of us, as we are the people that the economy is affecting. A lot of people have decided to further their education in their home state yet they have had dreams to do otherwise. That brings up the question: Is the economy really that bad that it is causing students to steer away from their dreams!? I think so. I mean it is really ridiculous and I don't think there's really anything being done about it!

*Website-Alcoholism*

Have you ever wondered… Why at eighteen, YOU are allowed to choose the president of the U.S, can be arrested and tried as an adult, serve the country; to live or die, buy lottery tickets and tobacco, but aren’t responsible enough to purchase alcohol? Well, that gets to me, so I decided to do a website based on lowering the legal drinking age. Teens all over the world are exposed to alcohol. The debate upon whether or not the drinking age should be changed back has been going on since it was changed. The drinking age was changed in 1987 because “youths brains are not fully developed until about the age of twenty one.” Also, officials thought that if they changed the law it would decrease traffic incidents. They were clearly wrong as incidents are more prevalent now than they were before the law was changed. It is difficult for officials to enforce a law to a billion teens who are not accepting it. I feel as though it would be easier to contain these young teens if they changed the law. People need to teach and provide didactic methods of learning to keep teens from being ignorant and abusing alcohol. My website is designed to give people my intake on things, provide them with a little background information on the law and why it was changed, how it effects society, how will change make it better, give statistics of the negative affect the change has on the country, and lastly provide an understanding of the pros and cons of changing the law back. www.underageddrinking.weebly.com

*My Life*

I finally found something that matters to me! Softball! I feel as though since I have been in college, I have been missing it a wholeeeeee lot! I started playing my sophomore year. Never played before and still made co-captain of the jr. varsity team! I started for three years and made captain of the varsity team my senior year. I also made the all-conference team along with two other players from my team. The feeling was great! I miss being on the field! I miss complaining about my knees from back catching for hours. I miss throwing and catching. I miss discussing plays with my coach! Sometimes I wish I can just go back. I tried out for the team here but I guess I don't have what they were looking for. I will definitely be training very hard over the summer to tryout again. Although, I'm playing intramural, it will never be the same!

*A Blast From the Past*

*Senior Board "Brrrr...." Dance*
I have a group of 6 friends! We have all been friends since the seventh grade. By the time senior year rolled around we started to get distant and most of us broke off into couplets but we still all hung together for special occasions or parties. Now that we're all in college it seems as though we're on different planets. I barely talk to any, except one, of them. I hope that things are the same when we go back for breaks! Most of my friends went home last weekend and it was my high school's homecoming. I was really sad because I really really wanted to go and ended up stuck in Funcie! *FML* Guess I have to wait til Thanksgiving Break to see everyone!

*Tattoos/Piercings*

My boyfriend has really been prevalent in all of my posts! Anywho, I had been wanting a tattoo of my sign for awhile, not that i'm into horoscopes or anything I just liked the way it looks and I do love my sign! So, I decided to do something spontaneous for my high school homecoming dance! My friend referred me to a guy who does cheap tattoos so I decided to check him out. After I got my hair done, I called my best friend up and told him to come with me because I didn't want to go to a random place alone. We went to the house and I got my tattoo! I love it although sometimes I forget I have it because its on the back of my neck! Welllllll.....now I want my nose pierced and another tattoo, but my boyfriend opposes the nose ring. I was going to do it anyway but we made a deal so nose ring for me! :( We also made a deal on the tattoo. The deal is I have to wait until he decides what he wants to get and we're going to get them together! He is so picky so it's gonna take forever now i'm kinda upset!

*Fantasy*

This Sims game is like my LIFE! Ahh! I started playing this game around the year 2002. Since then there have been two updated games(The Sims 2/3) and 18 expansion packs to this day. They also have disc that you can add to the game allowing you to purchase extra things to decorate your homes with. These are called "stuff packs." There are 12 total stuff packs. I have all three versions, seven different expansion packs, and my boyfriend recently bought me a stuff pack. I have played 10 different expansion packs total. I am in love with this game and it never gets old. Its like a whole other world where you can visualize and express your emotions in different ways. I play this game for fun, to alleviate aggression, and even when i'm sad! This game is great! I recommend it for everyone!

*Chicken, Fries, and Sweet Tea*

Every time someone asks me what my favorite food/drink is, I can never directly think of anything because I am fat and I pretty much love a lot of things! One day, I was watching the newlywed game on GSN and the wives were asked what would their husbands say his favorite food/drink is. So I thought to myself, "hmmm what if my boyfriend/husband were in this situation, he couldn't just say EVERYTHING! So I asked myself what can't I go a day without eating or drinking?! French fries and Sweet Tea! While in Chicago Fries and Sweet Tea had to be one of my meals each day! Chicken!? Not necessarily but I do eat a lot of it and I love chicken as well! So I guess I do have a favorite!:)

*Distance Kills*

My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 7 months. Its actually a record for me because I haven't been in a relationship before for more than 2.5 months. I know he's the one. I've never been happier in my entire life. Lately we have been disagreeing a lot. Its nothing big but it's just the simple fact that we're arguing. I mean I know all couples argue, but sometimes its the little things that expand into things that can worsen the situation. We have both come to the conclusion that the distance between us is making us crazy which was verified today. He came from Chicago to visit me Friday morning and he left this afternoon. Once he got here, we went shopping together, went to the show, and went to breakfast. Every moment spent together was cherished by each of us. No arguments. All fun and laughter. When he arrived home this evening, we had a slight disagreement. We both realized that when we are not physically together, we do not function well! I don't think that is a good thing, but we love each other so we're going to have to make it work! :)

*Air Jam*

Considering I was so skeptical about homecoming week, I wasn't really expecting much of anything out of Air Jam! I havent experienced much "Black Culture" since I've been here, so I was really excited to see the hip-hop dance teams and even BSA! Some of the groups were really talented and funny. The rest of the groups were just horrible and untamed! Outlet Hip-Hop dance group wasn't what I expected, but their performance was great overall. BSA's performance was really good also but it was way too short for me. Even though, the event was a little too long, I still enjoyed my time with my friends and watching everyones performance.

*Rock the Red*

Okay, I thought homecoming was like the best college experience a person could have. I was completely wrong!  In high school, I looked forward to "homecoming spirit week" every year. It was like the best week ever. Decorating the halls, voting for royalty, dressing up for different days, the game, the dance, everything was just amazing! BSU homecoming week was so dead and languid! The pep rally for instance, is supposed to be the hypest event ever. The opening day ceremonies were so boring, I almost fell asleep watching. On certain days, there was only like one event happening. I feel as though, it could've been more fun if there were more events offered each day. This made me wish I was back in High School for a moment.... I'll always bleed Orange and Green!

*..Wasn't What I Expected.....

Last Thursday, we had to do conferences for English. I wasn't really sure what to expect, but I was a little nervous. I mean I didn't think it would be too bad considering it would only last for ten minutes. I'm not overall pleased with the essays that I have done and the multimodal argument we are working on was a little confusing for me. Upon entering the conference, I didn't know if I was supposed to be talking about my work in general or the upcoming project. Once I got in McArdle's office, things mellowed down. It was actually pretty cool. He helped me a little with my argument and gave me the update of where I stand in class as far as my work! :)

*Palms Sweaty*

His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy/
There's vomit on his sweater already, mom's spaghetti/
He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready/
To drop bombs, but he keeps on forgetting/
What he wrote down/

So, last week I had to do an informative speech. I was going crazy because I couldn't pick a subject to write about. I also hate public speaking; and when I am nervous my words seem to scramble together. After some last minute brainstorming, I decided to do a speech on dance. I felt as though I was highly qualified to do so as I've been dancing since I could pretty much walk. I took two dance classes( tap and ballet), cheered for two years, danced on a pom team for two years, danced for the majestics dance team for four years; and became co-captain and captain, and even danced on a hip-hop team for about three years. Since I've been in college, I was enrolled in a Dance History class(of which I learned a lot), for about 3 weeks before I dropped it. Since dance has been a part of my life for so long, I was comfortable with speaking on the subject (or at least I thought I was). Having a PowerPoint behind me made things a little bit easier but I was still nervous. Anywho, I checked my grade online and I got a 99%! This has got to be a mistake!

*My Shows*

So for the past couple of weeks I have been really excited! Why, you ask? Well.... I have been patiently awaiting the return of the new seasons of my 3 favorite shows. Two of these shows in particular I began watching simultaneously about 5 years ago. My most favorite show, One Tree Hill, premiered Tuesday September 14, 2010 at 8:00pm. I own all 7 seasons and have watched all of them more than once. I was very excited to see what was currently happening after the writer, Mark Schwahn left us with a dying cliffhanger http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5GfPn60zV8! Although I had been a little skeptical about the last season and even the current season due to the ejection of two major characters(my favorite), I have been pleased overall. The very first episode and the episode thereafter had me in tears! It was amazing!  My other favorite show, Desperate housewives premiered Sunday, September 26, 2010 at 9pm, http://abc.go.com/shows/desperate-housewives?cid=abc_ss1_dh. I was surprised to see that a major character from the previous season, did not return for the new season, but I still love this show! Lastly, the newest comedy-drama TV series that I have required a liking for is Castle. I've been watching Castle for 2 out of the 3 seasons. Castle premiered Monday, September 20, 2010. Castle is based on a mystery novelist who helps the NYPD homicide department on one of their cases. He eventually becomes an essential accomplice to the police on all of their cases. My love for these shows make every week special. Every Sunday- Tuesday, I have something to look forward to before studying or even before bed. Can't wait to see what's going on this week! Ahh!
